Elm Street Facade Improvement
The BCDA administers the Borough’s Elm Street Façade Improvement Program for properties located in the Elm Street District. To date, 70 façade improvement program grants were awarded to local residents and/or property owners, totaling $266,199.57. Grant recipients provided matching funds, totaling $306,797.79. These efforts resulted in improving the appearance of the Elm Street neighborhood, preserving historic building stock, increasing property values, and fostering community pride.
Blairsville Borough has been awarded additional funding for its Elm Street Façade Improvement Program. The BCDA will be sponsoring a workshop at the Blairsville Community Center on July 29, 2013 at 7 PM. Property owners in the Elm Street District are encouraged to attend. Learn about the facade improvement program and find out how to apply for a reimbursement grant of up to $5,000 for eligible home improvements! Applications will be available at the workshop. Applications will also be available at the BCDA office beginning July 30, 2013.
Current funding for the Elm Street Facade Improvement Program, which is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, is nearly exhausted. If interested in applying, please submit an application at your earliest convenience.
