Welcome to Blairsville, Pennsylvania


Blairsville is a borough in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, 43 miles east of Pittsburgh, and on the Conemaugh River. Blairsville was settled in 1818 and incorporated in 1825. In the past, railway shops, foundries, machine shops, enameling plants, and manufactories of plate glass and lumber employed the residents.
Nestled between a backdrop of the gently rolling Appalachian mountain range and the lulling flow of the Conemaugh River, Blairsville provides a space to call home for more than 3,200 citizens, in both rural and town settings alike. Residents need not travel far to participate in cultural activiities: the town boasts an active historical society, a paint-and-sip with displays by local artists, several churches, a community center, exercise classes, wineries, hotels and two national-recognized golf courses with conference and wedding/banquet facilities that off a gorgeous view of the golf courses and the mountains.
Blairsville is located in the southern portion of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, bordered by the Conemaugh River, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania to the south and west and Burrell Township to the north and east. Blairsville geographic locations provides easy access to Routes 22 and 119, and from there to Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Indiana, Greensburg, Murrysville, Monroeville, State College and Altoona

Blairsville is a hub community in the Pittsburgh-to-Harrisburg Main Line Canal Greenway™, a 320 mile corridor of historic sites and hub communities linked by land and water trails, roughly following the path of the Main Line Canal.

Blairsville is the destination for canoe and kayaking opportunities through Packsaddle Gap on the Kiski -Conemaugh Water Trail. The Greenway provides river maps, interactive web maps, a mobile application and social media, plus a heritage tour guide.

Blairsville is a keystone in regional Trans Allegheny Trails system, with its own Blairsville Riverfront Trail located between the Ghost Town, Hoodlebug Trails, and the West Penn Trail.
