Our Mission

The Blairsville Community Development Authority (BCDA) is a governmental organization that was created to work with  public and private sector partners to obtain funding and support for development , redevelopment, construction and improvement projects; administer a neighborhood revitalization program; mobilize local resources and talent; complete projects that result in frequent, visible changes; capitalize on Blairsville's unique assets and preserve the community's sense of place.


The mission of the BCDA is to build a stronger, more vibrant community to benefit all the residents and businesses of Blairsville, Pennsylvania.

President Board Member of BCDA since 2014.

Retired elementary school teacher from the Derry Area School District.

She has been a member of the BCDA board for 7 years.

Board member since 2013. Retired nurse. Enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, music, cooking, volunteering around town with friends and lending a hand when asked.

Retired from Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Department of Anatomic Pathology.

Serves the community and following organizations: Blairsville Community Development Authority, Friends of the Blairsville Communities, Blairsville Cemetery, Historical Society of the Blairsville Area, Braddock Road Preservation Association, Family Week

Council- Jumonville, Advisory Board- Hope Camp Jumonville, Mid- Atlantic Air Museum.

Enjoys the outdoors, history, kayaking and puttering.

Board Member of BCDA since its beginning in 2009.

Board member of Cambria & Indiana Trail Council, Conemaugh Valley Cconservancy, Indiana County Parks and Trails, .

Ad Hoc Board member of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce

Larissa Csanyi's passion is promoting local art and businesses within Blairsville and it's surrounding communities. Larissa owns Founders Gallery and Gifts where she displays local art and offers creative workshops.
In addition to sitting on the BCDA/Friends Board, Larissa is on the Board of Directors for the Indiana County Tourist Bureau.
When Larissa isn't helping plan local events or volunteering in her community, you can find her on the bike trail, in her garden or instructing a yoga class.
